Cynthia enjoys working with people of all ages from 0-100. Although she focuses on children, she also loves working with adults. As a child, she grew up in a loving family with seven siblings and two amazing parents. She fell in love with babies and children when she babysat her nieces and nephews at the ripe old age of 12.
She continued to delight in helping children and their parents learn and grow during her 30-year education career teaching kindergarten, first grade, and early childhood special education. Working with adults as a professor of education has also been wonderful.
Cynthia developed a passion for working with children, teens, young adults, adults and older adults, during her 17 years working in her own private practice. She recently returned from an 18-month sabbatical doing volunteer work in Norway. While in Norway, she and her husband managed a youth and young adult center. This was a life-changing opportunity that helped us witness and learn about the many wonderful, Scandinavian ways of educating children, relishing nature, beautiful parenting practices, the importance of work/life balance, and focusing on health and their families. She is now loving the privilege and honor of working with her clients and rebuilding her counseling practice.
Cynthia adores spending time with her family- her husband, five children, eight grandchildren and two Golden-Doodles named Eleanor and Rigby. Hiking, beautiful nature, baking, and reading are also favorite pastimes.

my name is Stephanie Henschen and I grew up in Sebring, Ohio, a small village that is known for pottery. As a young girl, I played basketball and was blessed to have a coach and role-model that took the time to teach lessons that would be necessary throughout my life. She taught me resiliency, determination, humility, style, grace, and the importance of education and gave unconditionally to our small community (and continues 43 years later). My therapeutic style is client-centered, strengths-based, and team-oriented. A sense of community is the foundation for connectedness and provides purpose.
